Ando House, a Japanese-style house built in 1905. The Ando family was one of the local administrators of Nagahama while Toyotomi Hideyoshi was the Nagahama Castle lord. 北国街道 安藤家

Inside Ando House. This house was rented from the Ando family by Nagahama and used as a tourist attraction for 10 years until March 31, 2008 when it was closed. It reopened in April 2012.

Ando House also has a uniquely-designed room painted by Kitaoji Rosanjin who once lodged in the house while designing the room around 1912. Sometimes the room is opened to the public, but photography is not allowed.

Kaichi Gakko school was Shiga's first elementary school built in 1874, the early Meiji Period. Moved here in 1936. Now houses a restaurant and other facilities. 開智学校
