Lake Hyo 瓢湖

012-IMG_9341.jpg

Man-made lake where thousands of swans and ducks migrate to during the winter months. Swans have been coming here since 1950. During the day, they feed on harvested rice paddies. The bird has become a symbol of the city. In Oct. 2008, Lake Hyoko or Lake Hyo was added to the list of wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
