On its first trip to Asia, the UH men's basketball team traveled to China and Japan in Aug. 2011 to play several practice games. On Aug. 20, 2011, they played a practice game against Panasonic Trians at the Panasonic Arena in Hirakata, Osaka, Japan. Panasonic is one of the pro teams in the Japan Basketball League (JBL).
