The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show was held at Tokyo Big Sight during Nov. 23-Dec. 1, 2013. No American car makers were there. No Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Ferrari either.

The Japan Grand Prix International Orchid Festival 2012 was held during Feb. 18–26, 2012. The world's largest orchid show at Tokyo Dome shows not only flowers, but orchid-related artwork, fragrances, and orchid shops. Total of 130 booths. Attendance was 183,114.

Held every 2 years at Makuhari Messe in Makuhari, Chiba, the Tokyo Motor Show for passenger cars and motorcycles is one of Japan's largest and most popular trade shows. In 2005, it was held from Oct. 22 to Nov. 6 and over 1.5 million attended.

A lowrider car show is held six times a year in major cities. The Japan Tour starts and ends in Makuhari Messe in Makuhari, Chiba. The show featured numerous lowrider vintage cars as well as an impressive hydraulics competition where cars "hop." These photos were taken at the last show of 2008 in Makuhari Messe on Nov. 23, 2008. Held at Tokyo Big Sight every March, the Photo Imaging Expo is Asia's largest camera trade show. You can find film and digital cameras and accessories, large-format cameras, photo studio equipment, and minilabs. All the big names are there: Canon, Nikon, Epson, FujiFilm, etc. Some pictures from PIE 2005 are also included.

Japan is a leading maker of robots of all kinds, humanoid, industrial, and toys. Robotics shows and contests are popular. The Honda showroom in Tokyo offers ASIMO shows every day. In fall 2007, two large robotics fairs also opened. The Great Robot Exhibition was held at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno during Oct. 23, 2007 to Jan. 27, 2008.
