Chiyo was supposedly the daughter of the Gujo-Hachiman Castle's first lord, Endo Morikazu. Kazutoyo later became lord of Kochi Castle in Shikoku.

This statue was erected in 1991 by local donors. (Gujo-Hachiman Castle can be seen in the background.)
