CORONADO, Calif. (Aug. 21, 2008) The crew of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) mans the rails as the ship departs Naval Air Station North Island. George Washington will replace the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) as the Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
