YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov, 2007) Aviation Electronics Technician 1st Class Jason Sanders kisses his daughter after returning home from the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk's (CV 63) fall deployment. Kitty Hawk and the embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5 squadrons participated in exercise ANNUALEX with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force during the deployment. Kitty Hawk is the world's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier and operates from Fleet Activities Yokosuka.
