YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 27, 2007) Family and friends celebrate the homecoming for USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) as the ship arrives at Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka. Kitty Hawk, the world's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, returned after completing a scheduled fall deployment and participation in ANNUALEX, the maritime component of the U.S.-Japan exercise Keen Sword 08. The exercise was designed to increase interoperability between the United States and JMSDF and enhance their ability to effectively and mutually respond to a regional crisis situation.
