Naoshima is an island in the Seto Inland Sea. It is famous for art museums and outdoor sculptures.

We visited Naoshima on a day trip from Okayama. We didn't see all the museums, but we did see the major sights.

Rental bicycles on Naoshima. Many people rent bicycles, but we opted for the free shuttle bus which worked out well.

The terrain is hilly at times, so if you rent a bicycle, be prepared to pedal hard.

After arriving Miyanoura Port, we took a special bus that went directly to Chichu Museum.

Chichu Museum admission was ¥2,000, somewhat pricey. Impressive museum with Monet paintings.

Chichu Art Museum is not huge, so if it's crowded, you may have to wait to enter. Best to go as early as you can. (Photography was not allowed)

Chichu Art Museum Ticket Center is where you buy tickets to the museum. Also a bus stop where we took a free shuttle bus to Benesse House, another art museum.

Tsutsuji-so is the far end of the coast where we made a U-turn to head back to Miyanoura Port.

We rode the bus three times. Once from Miyanoura Port to Chichu Museum, then to Benesse House, then from Tsutsuji-so back to Miyanoura Port.
