Leading nature photographer of Lake Biwa and Shiga Prefecture.

Major themes Nature and wildlife of Lake Biwa and Shiga Prefecture, man and nature co-existing, and insects.

Career After graduating from college, studied photography (self taught) and turned freelance photographer in 1980. Besides Lake Biwa and Shiga Prefecture, he also photographs tropical rain forests, deserts, and lakes around the world. Numerous awards, books, and exhibitions. Also conducts nature lessons in Shiga Pref.

Awards 20th KIMURA Ihei Award, 1994.
