MATSUMOTO Norihiko 松本 徳彦 (1936.1.1- ) Onomichi, Hiroshima Pref. Photographer of stage performances, authority on Japanese photography history, author, a director in The Photographic Society of Japan and the Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS) Education Graduated Nihon Univ. photo dept. in 1958.
Career Worked for publisher Shufu to Seikatsu-sha from 1957 to 1963. Turned freelance to shoot mainly for magazines and promotional publications.
From 1964, took charge of publicity for Nissei Theater where he started photographing performing artists on stage. This has since become his specialty. He has photographed many famous stage performances and performing artists in renown theaters in Japan and abroad.
Also actively involved in promoting photographic culture (especially Japanese photography history) by planning numerous photo exhibitions and writing and editing photography-related books. (2000.12.10)
