IWAGO Mitsuaki 岩合 光昭 (1950.11.27- ) Tokyo.

Photographer of nature and wildlife such as whales and in Africa.

Interested in photography since childhood. Visited the Galapagos islands while in college. Turned freelance photographer after graduating. Photos have appeared in National Geographic and Life magazines.

Awards: Kimura Ihee Award, 1980; Kodansha Publishing Culture Award, 1985; Award of the Year, Photographic Society of Japan, 1985.
