HANABUSA Shinzo
HANABUSA Shinzo 英 伸三 (1936.10.3- ) Chiba City, Chiba Pref. Graduated from Tokyo Sogo Shashin Senmon Gakko in 1960. Worked for Sony Corp. before turning freelance in 1964.
Social issues concerning rural farming villages are his main themes. In 1964, he photographed farmer wives assembling electronic parts. This led to other related themes such as the mechanization of farming, the use of agricultural chemicals, and farmers working in the city during the off-season.
Other themes include environmental destruction, pollution, social welfare, and military bases. Also a photo documentary writer.
