SHIRAHATA Shiro 白旗 史朗 (1933.2.23) Otsuki City, Yamanashi Pref. Prominent alpine photographer.

Apprenticed with OKADA Koyo, who specialized in Mt. Fuji, for five years from 1951.

Turned freelance in 1962, taking mostly mountain photos and nature. Specialized on Japan's Southern Alps.

The Shiro Shirahata Photo Gallery in Hayakawa-cho, Yamanashi Pref. is dedicated to him.
