IRIE Taikichi 入江 泰吉 (1905.11.5 - 1992.1.16) Nara City, Nara Pref.

Leading photographer of Nara temples and scenics. Donated his photos to the Nara City Museum of Photography that is dedicated to his works.

Moved to Osaka in 1925 to pursue a career in photography.

Opened photo supply shop Kogeisha in 1931. The March 1945 bombing destroyed his shop (and home), prompting him to return to Nara where he dedicated himself to photographing Nara.

Held numerous shows for his photos of Nara temples, landscape, and Buddhist treasures.

Awards: Distinguished Contribution Award, Photographic Society of Japan, 1966.
