FUKUHARA Yoshiharu 福原 義春 (1931-2023) Tokyo. Nephew of noted pictorialist photographers FUKUHARA Shinzo and Roso.


Director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography since his appointment on Nov. 6, 2000 by Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara. Nephew of noted pictorialist photographers FUKUHARA Shinzo and Roso.
Upon appointment by then Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara, director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum) from Nov. 6, 2000 to March 2016.  


Graduated Keio Univ. in economics in 1953. Entered Shiseido Cosmetics Co. the same year. Later became president of Shiseido in America and held other key positions until becoming president of Shiseido in Japan in 1987, and chairman in 1997. Interested in scientific photography. (2001.2.28)

FUKUHARA Yoshiharu 福原 義春 (1931-2023) Tokyo. Nephew of noted pictorialist photographers FUKUHARA Shinzo and Roso.

Upon appointment by then Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara, director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum) from Nov. 6, 2000 to March 2016.

Graduated Keio Univ. in economics in 1953. Entered Shiseido Cosmetics Co. the same year. Later became president of Shiseido in America and held other key positions until becoming president of Shiseido in Japan in 1987, and chairman in 1997. Interested in scientific photography.
