MAEDA Shinzo 前田 真三 (1922.6.3 - 1998) Hachioji, Tokyo. Prominent landscape photographer specializing in Hokkaido.

Employed by Nichimen Co., a trading company, in 1948. Left in 1965 to found Tankei Co. which leased framed photographs. It later became a film library which is still operating today, run by his eldest son.

In 1971, traveled across Japan from south to north. Became obssessed with the Hokkaido landscape. Opened Photo Gallery Takushinkan in Biei-cho, Hokkaido in 1986.

Awards: Award of the Year, Photographic Society of Japan; Mainichi Shuppan Culture Award.
