Belonging to the Zen Rinzai Sect, Sorinji temple is noted for its Japanese garden called Ryushintei in the back of the temple. I rented a bicycle from a hotel in front of Ube-Shinkawa Station and rode to the temple.

Ryushintei Garden is Yamaguchi Prefecture's oldest Japanese garden. A mountain ridge and pond are used as part of the garden. Only two Japanese gardens in Japan are like this.
