Dane Hill and the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) during the ship's departure from Fleet Activities Yokosuka. Kitty Hawk, the Navy's oldest active warship and only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, will soon be relieved by the Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73).
