SASAKI Kon 佐々木 崑 (1918-2009.3.27) China. Prominent photographer of insects and macro photography.

Apprenticed under KIMURA Ihee in 1951. Operated a camera shop in Kobe in 1955. Ran a commercial studio in Osaka in 1957 and started shooting for documentary and weekly magazines.

Turned freelance photographer in 1960 and moved to Tokyo.

In 1963, entered Tokyo Cinema, a scientific movie company. Left Tokyo Cinema in 1969 and became a freelance photographer again.

Awards: Award of the Year, Photographic Society of Japan, 1972
