KURATA Seiji 倉田 精二 (1945.7.12-) Tokyo. Painting at Tokyo University of Arts, 1967-69. In spring 1974, took a 1-year photo workshop taught by MORIYAMA Daido, ARAKI Nobuyoshi, and TOMATSU Shomei. Freelance since 1976.

Won Kimura Ihei Award in 1980 for book Flash Up, a collection of very graphic B/W photos of underground folk in Tokyo such as yakuza, sex workers, gay men, and motorcycle gangs. Independent filmmaker of animation. Based in Tokyo.
