ISHIKAWA Bun'yo 石川 文洋 (1938.3.10- ) Naha, Okinawa.

Freelance photographer who lived in Saigon, South Vietnam from Aug. 1964 to Dec. 1968 and photographed the Vietnam War.

Worked for Asahi Shimbun's photography dept. from 1969 to 1984. Went freelance again in 1984 as documentary photographer. Published numerous books mostly on Vietnam and the Vietnam War. Perhaps his best-known photo is of an American soldier picking up the head and shoulders which ripped away from the rest of the Vietnamese corpse. Okinawan military issues are also major themes.
