Mashu Maru was a train ferry connecting Aomori Station and Hakodate Station. It linked the Japan National Railway line across the ocean strait between Honshu and Hokkaido.

Mashu Maru is now a museum ship at Hakodate Port's new Wakamatsu Dock. It was moved here in Feb. 2020. This dock is also used by luxury cruise ships. (Nippon Maru is on the left.)

It was built in 1964 and sailed from 1965 to March 1988 when the Seikan railway tunnel opened.
