What's what at the Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant. The Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant started operating commercially on March 14, 1970, the same day when Expo '70 opened in Osaka. Expo '70 in Osaka was the Tsuruga Nuclear Power Station's first commercial customer.Jun 17, 2017

Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant (敦賀発電所). The cylindrical domed building on the left is the No. 1 reactor, Japan's first light-water reactor that operated from 1970 to 2015.
